York Pride is entering its 25th year. Their mission is to grow a vibrant network of events and programs that inspire positive change and foster a sense of belonging across York Region’s nine municipalities. York Pride strives to dispel hate and misconceptions through engaging in educational activities and collaborating with friends and allies. They aim to create spaces to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors to ensure queen individuals can safely express themselves, celebrate diversity, and have fun. PFLAG
pflag York Region is an entirely volunteer-led LGBTQ21A+ support, education, and resource network with an over 30 year history in York Region. pflag may be a little over 30 years old in York Region, but the larger organization has an over 50 year history supporting the queer liberation movement. We offer peer to peer support meetings and social events where parents, community members, and their families and friends gather to connect with others with similar lived experiences. pflag also advocates for the community with their work on a number of working groups and committees through the region and workshops.
